Currently watching Burlesque with Sam and we’re just GOSHING over the custom made pair of Louboutin that was made for Christina Aguilera….
Might I say that they are FABULOUS!!!
I love Christina Aguilera, and I love the whole Broadway musical theme…and this movie is just soooooooo touching!!!
So this really nice nail place just open at the plaza across the street from me. I was always tempted to go check it out, but either didn’t have the time, or just had some other reason that prevented me from going in.
Lots of things happened in the past couple days, I’ve got myself a job that I think I’m really going to enjoy starting, and also got accepted into the physiology specialist program at the university which I’m REALLY excited about, SO I decided that it was time to celebrate by getting my nails done PROPERLY this time. There was NOTHING that was stopping me this time.
I walked into the salon today after volunteering at around 1. The place was VERY clean, and fresh looking. There were a couple people doing there nails there, it was a very pleasant little shop.
I didn’t want to do anything major like gel nails for anything, just needed a proper colouring and a good hand to fix my UNBEARABLE cuticles…
The girl that did them for me was GREAT!! She was really friendly (which is really important in terms of customer service!) and she did excellent on shaping my nails…and did I mention she did a GREAT job on fixing my DARN CUTICLES!!! @.@
honestly…I don’t quite know how she dealt with all that ugly dead skin around my nails…but she did…and she did A WONDERFUL job….I’m very happy with it! I’d never be able to do it myself…but never the less it looks GOOD!
The colour that I chose was a GORGEOUS nude rose colour by OPI called Rose Petals!
The soft pink nude colour is really good for the weather that we have now! It’s really hot outside, and this shade has just the right amount of warmness to reflect that! It’s a very delicate and gentle colour that I think can be paired with any outfit! IT’S SO VERSITILLE!!
I was overall very happy about this experience. I think they were very meticulous about what they’d done. The work space was clean and neat, and the customer service was very enjoyable!
The store is located just a little off the south-east corner of Leslie and Cummer. So if you are from Toronto and are in the area…it’s definitely a good place to drop by and do a quick nail treatment!!
They accept either walk-ins or appointments, and they will take cash, debit or Visa! (If you pay cash though, they cover the taxes for you!!) They have a VARIETY of different programs…and for good prices too!! polish changes for $7 and French Manicure for $16!!!! (They also have Shellac available for the same price as a French Manicure!!!)
I’ve definitely had a good experience with them!! I think I will most definitely go back and re-visit very often =)
So last week I uploaded a video on interview FOTD and OOTD, and I TOTALLY FORGOT that I had some pictures that I wanted to upload and show you guys of the outfit and my face! So here it is:
I tied my hair into a half ponytail and just twisted inwards so it’s not so plain and boring…plus it also adds a little bit of volume to my head as welll~~ (seriously in need of a hair cut..)

Cheeks – NARS multiple in CADAQUE and MAC’s Her Blooming Cheek blush

This has been a LONNNNG postponed post….I’ve MIA for a while now…finally got to enjoy 2 weeks off from school, work and everything else…BUT I am BACK! =D
Overall:
I LOOOVE how this foundation looks on my skin!!
I currently have it in the shade Dusk, which I think is a little bit too pink for me and a little bit too dark for me, but it looks AMAZING!!
I looks SO smooth and flawless on my skin, and makes it VERY even! I think the most important reason for it is that it’s very hydrating and it keeps my skin very nourished throughout the day, which also helps the foundation to stay better!
It doesn’t look cakey or heavy, and just looks very natural. The coverage is DEFINITELY a full coverage foundation…VERY easy to apply and smooth out, and very buildable! The most important thing is that a little goes a LONGGGGG way!!
7 hours after application:
The foundation after 7 hours of wear still looks very very fresh~! and it definitely is very HYDRATING since it didn’t make my skin look very dried out and appear to be rough and breaking out~
There no settling of the foundation into lines and although the coverage is beginning to being eaten away…it’s DEFINITELY still a medium coverage…(note: there was no touch up!!)

NOTE:
This is AMAZING!! I got the coverage I wanted WITHOUT having to powder and layer foundations with my MAC Studio Fix Foundation!!
It didn’t make me extremely oily, and I only have to gently blot with a tissue!!

I think Estee Lauder’s Double wear is THE ONE!!!
I will soon be looking into purchasing this…perhaps at the next Estee Lauder/MAC warehouse sale~?!

I know I should really be writing an entry for the Foundation Diary….BUT….biology exam tomorrow has gotten me so worn out…I don’t think I’ll have the energy to do it…O.O
I won’t get a chance to write on blog again until Friday afternoon, so it really wasn’t a smart idea to upload a video in the middle of exam week!! T.T

Overview:
Oh my gosh!! I can’t even BEGIN to describe HOW BAD this foundation is….on me that is…
I heard a lot of good reviews of the product saying that it gave a natural finish, but on me…it just looked….DISGUSTING!!! O.O (pardon the poor choice of words, but that was the only one that fitted to describe how I felt…)
From a distance, everything seems nice, it’s smooth on the skin and it’s glowy. It provides a good coverage yaddy yaddy yadda…
But don’t be deceived!!!!
The foundation looked HORRIBLE when I applied it!! It refused to spread evenly, and it was runny and thin!!! It felt powdery to the touch and only had a low to medium coverage!!!
The shimmer in the foundation was SO NOTICEABLE it nearly drove me INSANE when I was doing my makeup this morning!! The worse part was that the shimmer made my whole face look MUDDY!!! It accentuated my pores, settled into my smile lines and just clumped together and made the whole look very “dirty”!!!!

Again, if you don’t look closely it doesn’t look too bad…but take a look at this:
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
This foundation was beyond UNBEARABLE to me!!! It COMPLETELY dried my skin up!! (and I was looking for a hydrating foundation,) it broke me out, AND it caked and creased on me like there’s no tomorrow!!! (not to mention the extremely noticeable smile line under my eyes!!)
It felt powdery on my face and it was just GROSSSSSS!!!!

3) MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation
4) Blush and highlighter
NOTE:
AGAIN! I had to use MAC studio fix to correct everything before I was able to get out the door!! This time I had to cake on a full layer to get the same results that I got from my other foundations!!
This foundation also made me blot a LOT earlier in the day!! (right around 4 hours into wear I had to blot!! O.O)

I DEFINITELY won't be purchasing this!! I am really disappointed because I had high hopes in Lancome. The reputation of the brand has always been great and it's just sad to see this fail on me this much…><

Overview:
It was a good coverage, but it was dry!! What I mean by that is that when you put it on, the instant you slide it onto your face, it feels really POWDERY and hard to blend…
This is what I wore today:

From afar, the foundation gives a good balanced coverage everywhere. It’s not overly matifying which is always good, and it’s not very powdery or cakey.
Going a bit closer, you can start noticing the broken capillaries seeping through the foundation on my cheeks. Notice that under the eye and around the nose where I tend to get oily, it seems like it’s cakey and powdery.
The cakey-ness is ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE under the eyes in this one…makes it SOO apparent that I have wrinkles there…O.O However, it remains acceptably smooth everywhere else

2) MAC Pro Long wear in NC25
3) MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation
4) lots of blush and highlighter!!
NOTE!!:
The prolong wear didn’t give this coverage!! The Studio Fix powder did!! Studio Fix powder is an AMAZING powder foundation that has probably a medium to full coverage!! I had to go over the Pro Longwear with the powder because it wasn’t covering what I wanted for it to cover!
I also used a really bright highlight which is what gives that glow, the actual foundation itself is actually QUITE matte!!!

I don't think I'll be buying this…I'm just not stunned upon my first try…and I'm one of those very OCDed people, that if I don't like in the beginning, no matter how hard I try to like it later on…there will always be like a shadow there…-.-
